Bringing Baby Home is a research based workshop dedicated to improving the quality of life for babies and children by strengthening their families. Developed by renowned relationship and parenting experts John and Julie Gottman, the Bringing Baby Home workshop is for those who are:
- Interested in having a baby
- Expecting a baby
- Already parenting an infant or toddler (0-3 years old)
The goal of Bringing Baby Home is to equip you with the knowledge and skills sets needed to constructively cope with the various changes that typically occur during the first three years after your baby is born. In the workshop you and your partner will learn how to do the following:
- Strengthen your friendship
- Increase intimacy and affection
- Work through conflict with greater ease
- Maintain relationship satisfaction
- Reduce Hostility
- Create positive baby-child interactions
- Ensure quality involvement for both parents
- Reduce the incidence or severity of postpartum mood disorders.
Cost of the Workshop:
This 12-hour program is valued at well over $200 per couple. Realizing that many folks just starting a family are not able to afford a program of this caliber, we are committing to charge only $100 per couple and trusting God to stir the hearts of our supporters to provide the finances needed to keep it going.
For residents of Linn and Benton Counties, the Rotary Club of Greater Corvallis generously granted $1,500 in scholarship money to help get this program established in the mid-valley. For these couples, we are able to reduce the cost to $50 per couple.
Each couple will need to order their own workshop materials directly from the Gottman Institute. Go HERE to purchase the BBH New Parents Workshop: Couples Materials Set ($39). We recommend ordering no later than two weeks before the first class so you can receive the materials in time.
Submit the form below and make payment by June 26, 2020, to reserve your spot. Limited spaces are available.
Cancellations up to 10 days before will receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 10 days before the workshop you may transfer the registration fee to a future class. Friends of the Family reserves the right to cancel the class 7 days prior to the first session if not enough registrations have been received. In that case, a full refund will be given.
